The Committee And Professional Support

The committee meets on a regular basis to discuss the needs of patients, act on their behalf when necessary and manage the charity’s funds.

The ‘Open Arms’ committee can also help in some circumstances which fall outside the boundaries set by the Services, with travel, transport and accommodation.

Where needed, the committee can call on

• Health and welfare professionals with a particular interest and experience in the field of oncology.
• Medical staff with aeromed experience.
• Obtain help from professionals with practical issues and can act on the patient’s behalf with other agencies.
• Arrange counselling for the patient or a family member.
• Arrange talks by welfare professionals to raise awareness of breast and testicular cancer.
• Access to a financial adviser if you are having difficulties in managing your budget.
